Matt Glynn Real Estate
**Matt Glynn honored as a Prudential California Realty Award Winning Realtor - 2009
My name is Matt Glynn. In my free time you'll find me at the beach or in the city. I enjoy exercising and I love all musical genres. I am addicted to coffee, energy drinks, and artificial sweeteners (I know, I know, sorry). I survive on Subway sandwiches –God bless Jared. I am quite fond of nearly every condiment you can think of. My favorite movies are Goodwill Hunting and A Few Good Men. I cover my walls with my favorite inspirational quotes and I love listening to motivational speeches. I've spent many a car ride drinking coffee and listening to Richard Simmons….just kidding…but that's scary to think about.
I love the Chicago Cubs. Despite the fact that they haven't won a World Series in over 100 years, I am convinced that "next year is our year." It runs in the family. My grandmother has a bottle of champagne that she refuses to drink until the Cubs win the World Series. Every spring she chills it on ice and every winter she takes it out of the fridge and puts it back in the garage "'til next season."
I am a member of Toastmasters - Career Builders. It is a group that puts emphasis on career networking and public speaking (hence the name "Toastmasters"). Although I may appear "driven," it wasn't until after I joined the club that they told me there was no champagne after the speeches.
I've lived in 4 different states and many different cities and places, but will never again leave California! I've skied in the Connecticut snow, dodged Washington rain drops, and eaten Wisconsin cheese (what else am I supposed to say about Wisconsin?). I was actually born in Wisconsin and my extended family still remains there, but my immediate family resides near Sacramento, California. Ever since I laid eyes on California in 6th grade I knew it was home.
In my first year of college I attended the University of California – Santa Cruz. Our mascot was the Banana Slugs. My next year I transferred to the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. Our mascot was the Loggers.I definitely had two of the coolest or lamest mascots ever, depends on how you look at it. I was an All-American collegiate basketball player and graduated with a B.A. in Communication.
I played professional basketball in the American Basketball Association. We used the red, white and blue balls just like the old-school ABA, and the Harlem Globetrotters. The only differences were that we didn't have "short" shorts and afros like the ABA, and we didn't exactly play like the Globetrotters. My bi-weekly paycheck was $800, and we used to race to the bank because half the checks would bounce. Pay day was always the day that I coincidentally got hurt, sick, or had an appointment and was forced to leave practice early.
After my basketball career, I entered the fitness industry. A year later I co-founded and opened my own high-end gym. It was and still is a very successful business, but after 2 years I decided I needed another challenge. After having dabbled in real estate since college, I decided to dive in head first.
I am a fully fledged "workaholic." No matter how long I'm in the business I can't seem to put my Blackberry away. From meeting new clients, to helping people find their dream homes, to negotiating offers and cutting deals, I love everything about real estate.
What drives me is the unlimited growth potential of the business. It is a seemingly ceiling-less (say that 5x fast) profession that challenges me daily. I strive to push myself to reach new heights and fulfill untapped potential. Although at times it may seem to others that "I am my work," I use real estate as my liaison. I wake up every day with the goal of self improvement—proud of the person that I am trying to become through my work.
So why choose me as your real estate agent? Because as your agent, I
1.Work for YOU.
2.Commit to YOU.
3.I care about YOU.
I look forward to working with you and I thank you for the opportunity to tell you a little about myself.
